what to do if

This is not an all-inclusive list, but is intended to serve as a communication guide for parents. The phone number to use to contact anyone on this list is (718) 263-9770, except where noted. Please listen to the prompts for the right person or department to get in touch with.

  • You have a concern about homework… Contact the Teacher via note in backpack, email or phone.
  • You have a concern about anything going on in your child’s classroom – your child’s academic performance, content of class work, social interactions between your child and others… Contact the Teacher.
  • You lost your permission slip for the class trip… Contact the Teacher.
  • You need to take your child out of school early… Write the Teacher a note and call the Main Office.
  • You want to visit the classroom… Contact the Teacher.
  • Your child is sick and not going to school… Call the Main Office before 9am.
  • You’ll be unexpectedly late picking-up your child from school… Call the Main Office immediately.
  • You need to reach your child in the classroom… Call the Main Office.
  • You need to leave a message for a teacher… Call the Main Office.
  • Your child lost his/her glasses… Call the Teacher and the Main Office.
  • Your child is having adjustment difficulties… Call the Guidance Counselor.
  • You need information on school events… Read the Principal’s Monthly Newsletter; visit the School and the PA websites; attend monthly PA meetings.
  • You see an unsafe situation on or around school property… Call the Main Office.
  • You want to know if school is cancelled because of snow… Call 311, or you will be contacted via the school notification phone system.
  • You want to help with a PA event… Contact the Parent Coordinator, or use the “Contact Us” form to the right of this page.
  • You need information regarding the “Be Cool After School” programContact the Program’s Director, Maria Romero, via email (afterschoolps196@gmail.com) or phone (339-788-7797).
  • You need general PA information… Contact the Parent Coordinator, or use the “Contact Us” form to the right of this page.
  • You have a classroom concern that you have tried, but have been unable to resolve directly with your child’s teacher… Contact Administration.
  • You don’t know who to contact… Contact the Parent Coordinator.
