From the PA President

July, 2010

Dear Parents,

Hello there. My name is Brenda Zuckerman and I was elected the PA President for the 2010-2011 school year. Things have really come full circle for me. I am a graduate of PS 196 and my daughter Jordan will be entering the 4th grade in September. I have always held PS 196 close to my heart and am honored to serve as next year’s PA President.

On behalf of the new PA Board and the entire Parents’ Association, I would like to thank the outgoing PA President Valorie Weintraub, VP Pepa Tanousis, and Treasurer Liz Gordon for a job well done. Thank you to Lisa Goldenberg who will continue as PA Secretary for another year. Thank you to Jackie Astacio for her many years as Co-Chairperson of the Fund raising Committee. Many thanks to all of the Committee Chairpersons who worked tirelessly this year. I look forward to working with you next year.

Congratulations to our 5th grade graduates and their parents too. We are proud of you. The education you received at PS 196 is second to none. Good luck next year.

Looking forward, the PA has many wonderful events and fund raisers planned for the year ahead. Our monthly meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month, babysitting is provided, and we hope to see many new faces this year. If your child will be entering kindergarten this year, PA meetings are a great way to get involved.

But enough talk about school when summer is here. I want to wish everyone a restful, enjoyable, and safe summer vacation!
