The meeting starts at 7:30 P.M.
with the attendance of 13 parents, Ms. Hughes and the
Executive Committee . Absent PA co-president Lisa Feinstein.
The minutes for the previous
meeting are approved with a motion by Brenda Zuckermann
seconded by Shari Bennett.
Ms. Hughes address the P.A. and briefly discuss various
issues of concern on the upcoming primary Elections Day. She
request to have a few parents volunteer to monitor the halls
and bathroom in addition to the Security Officers on that
day. Various parents sign with Ms. Hughes and will be at the
school to help.
C. Rupp, the PA treasurer,
distributes and explains the Monthly Financial report . She
recaps that the Opening balance is $28793.24 and that the
closing balance is $15751.96. A pdf detailed version of the
report will be available on the School website. C. Rupp
request cooperation and assistance with the Spotlight ads
and give February 1st as the deadline for the ads
submission.
D. Mannarino reports that the Be
Cool After School (BCAS) program has a total enrollment of
103 children. He also reports that Wacky Fun Mornings start
on Wednesday, January 23rd, and that the new semester starts
on March 3. BCAS had 2
birthday parties with age related activities and they were
very successful. He has scheduled a Winter cookie decorating
on January 30, a Wacky fun kids night on February 8th, and a
Valentine’s day project on February 12 and 13.
The International Night can’t be
scheduled or planned until the Spring Dance/Concert is
scheduled. The dance is usually after Spring Break and last
year was on 4/21, It is agreed that this year it will be
again at the Gym and most likely with the same DJ and
activities.
It is also discussed that
everything is ready for the Movie/Nite on Feb 8th. Jackie
Astacio , Co-Chair of the Fundraising Committee, reports
that in addition to the Boston Market, and the Book Fair,
which is in great need for volunteers, the committee is
considering a Comedy night with babysitting available.
In other business Maria Romero
reports that the printing services for $500 donated by the
Azizi family is available and that it will most likely be
used for the production of the June edition of Spotlight. It
is also discussed that the 501C is not need it for the
Federal Government but that the PA will look into filing an
application because of the various donations and the
understanding that maybe some parents would want to declare
as charitable donation in their income taxes and will not be
able to do that. It is also discussed that the Photographer
services were not up to par and that we should look into a
different service provider for Photography .
